the point system

Lately Kimball and I have been brainstorming about different methods we could use to encourage, discipline, motivate, reinforce, teach, etc. our little independent Benson. There are times when it is difficult to get him to do what we'd like him to do, and on the flip side we also want to encourage him when he is the best helper you could dream of, uses good manners, shares, and lots of other good behavior we are very grateful for.
This is what we came up with
for our latest motivator:
The point system inspired by Toy Story 3So, we made a point chart. 100 points=100 filled boxes=let's go to the movies!!
We made sure to hang it high enough that little brother wouldn't tear it up.

He had already earned 12 points before we actually got the chart made. Notice the orange marker- he is OBSESSED with ORANGE right now. It's really endearing to see him choose his "favorite things". That is another post in itself.
Hopefully we'll have another post soon titled, "Toy Story 3"

wow! one hundred! that is a lot. It is encouraging that he already had 12 boxes by the time it was made. point systems are suppose to be the best way to motivate kids. sometimes you have to find a way to make the points in and of themselves rewarding. . . that is when stickers often come into play, however with a orange marker that seems to work as well. The movie is way cute! good luck
