Cedar City

Kimball had a work assignment in Cedar City early on Saturday morning so his plan was to go down on Friday, do his assessment on Saturday and come home. The difference with this business trip is that we got invited! We arrived in Cedar around 8 and got dinner at the Pizza Factory. The boys were really excited because this is where Kimball gets the over sized suckers that he's brought back to them before. They each got to pick one, Benson dropped and shattered his before we were even finished paying, and the very nice girl gave him a new one.

Two is better than one! Best buddies! What is it about a hotel bed that screams, "Jump on me! Have a pillow fight too!"

Our hotel was just newly remodeled and was really nice. I took the boys swimming in the morning before check out while Kimball worked.

Then we walked across the street to a local park that was hosting a Renaissance Faire. Interesting, let's go check it out. I met this guy spinning wool. At first I was just watching, and then he motioned to me to take the wool.

He made a little bracelet from the spun wool and put it on my wrist. His spinning wheel, Matilda, was 250 years old. You can tell he was into his craft.

Some people really get into the spirit of the middle ages. You should have seen the parade of 100 medieval look alikes. Wow, what a sight.

Camel rides.

Benson got to kill an English Knight: Sir Knees A Lot.

Andrew cheering on his noble brother in battle.

After the Renaissance Faire we walked up Main Street and saw the July Jamboree! They closed off two blocks of Main Street in every direction and lined up 250 classic cars, hot rods, race cars, slushee machines and street vendors. Benson's favorite was any car that was ORANGE.

Both the boys are into anything flying in the air. Strange that their excitement wasn't the same with the plane on the ground.

My favorite was this cute '54 Corvette. The guy was sure to point out it was his wife's car -but he drove it (in his huge red truck), he washed it, and he sat around to take comments. Hmmm.

There are some beautiful lavender fields in Mona along I-15. The purple is so pretty against the green fields and blue lake.
We got home just in time to join our ward for the July Luau activity. Andrew really wasn't so sure about this bounce house. He figured it out though. Thanks to Shawn's Summer Solstice Party Benson has this thing figured out.
