This is me on September 19th. Kimball had to leave that morning and Benson was up and running. I wanted to still lounge in bed for a bit, but that only lasted minutes. I heard Benson putting golf balls in the family room and then I heard little feet running. The next thing I know something COLD is touching my arm. Of course I'm thinking the worst, but I look up to see the most adorable boy holding my birthday cake. He then gets cuter when he says, "Happy Birthday mom!" What a great way to start the day. . . . because after that it didn't really go according to plan. We did some shopping - love that - grabbed some Cafe Rio and came home to see a bad football game get worse. Kimball said to me at the end of the day, "good thing it's not your REAL birthday right?" So the joke continued that my 'real' birthday was the next week. (I still had a wonderful true birthday..honestly, I have everything I want)

So the next Thursday, I was at my mom's house, (which she had tried really hard to make sure that I would be there) when I got a phone call from Stephanie. She made small talk and then said, "let me tell you what I got you for your birthday". I protested and then she said, "Okay, I'll just show you". At that VERY moment she walked into the kitchen and we both freaked out. Then came Blake and Chase too!! I was so excited for the weekend to come.
(see next post: Triathalon and meet Cosmo)
That Sunday we had a family dinner, and had almost the whole family there (minus Matt, Audrey and Jackson) It was the best birthday dinner; chicken Cordon Blue, garden green beans, rolls and jam, salad, and rice.

Count em' up- 31 candles, and Zach, who also had a birthday in September helped me blow them out. Actually, he blew them out, I helped a little. Laura made an awesome chocolate cake and lemonade cupcakes too. So yummy!

I have such a wonderful family!!! Thank you so much for all the cute, thoughtful, fun gifts and cards! It was a great 'real' birthday.
That Monday, Kimball surprised me with an awesome date. We hit a movie that made us laugh, and then went to Tuscany for dinner. Dinner was so quiet that we could hear ourselves think and had great conversation. I could listen/talk to him all day. He already gave me a gift, but gave me some new winter gloves and a very sincere card. It wasn't so bad celebrating twice!
